Which cruise line is better princess or celebrity? also which island is better st thomas or st maartin?

A second vote for Princess and St. Maarten.

Somewhat older pax on X. Food is better and more available on Princess. You are greeted with a glass of champagne when you first board on X and they have damp towels when you board at some ports. Princess markets you ad nauseum for everything from the soda cards to the cook book.

IMO, if you don't consider St. John along with St. Thomas, St. Maarten is a lot better. Many more, nicer beaches including a few places where you can forget the swimsuit or at least the top. At Maho, you can stand on the beach and watch planes fly over the beach so low you can almost touch them. Don't want to be sandblasted by the planes? Step over to the Sunset Bar and ask how you can drink for free. If you want to stay close to the ship, there is an OK beach and several casinos in downtown Phillipsburg, an easy walk or short taxi ride.

Both islands are good shopping destinations and have similar stuff. You won't find MaDouDou in STT but you can bring back 5 liters of alcohol per person instead of 1.

FWIW, some trips (maybe on other lines) give you a full day at both places. If this were my first trip, I might opt for that...
