Which cruise line is the best for college (Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival, Royal Caribbean)?

I am in college, and am looking for a cruise that won't have a lot of kids or old people (maybe other college aged people would be good?). I've read up that Royal Caribbean has 55+, Carnival has kids, but I'm not sure if this is true. What is your take on Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival or Royal Caribbean?

  1. I went on a Cruise with Celebrity and it was loaded with 55+ age group. Carnival is good they are considered the party boat. If you don't want a lot of kids on the cruise try going when school is in session.

  2. Overall, your best bet probably Carnival during the summer or school holidays, a 3-day weekend cruise or a 7-day.  Carnival is more nightlife oriented than RCI, and generally more fun.

You get more retirees on longer cruises and mid-week cruises (because they don't have to worry about vacation time).

However, any cruise that's at a good time for college breaks will also be good families -- your spring and summer breaks are the same as the elementary schools.  That said, at least on Carnival and RCI they know how to keep the kids busy.
