This is the first time that my family is going on a cruise and I wanted to know which lines are the best. Some of the things that need to be included are:

*ALL food included in price

*Ice Skating Rink

*Multiple Swimming Pools

*Mini Water Park

*Youth Programs

*Good Food

*Good Atmosphere

*Good Staff

*Goes to the Carribean or Bahamas for Ft. Lauderdale or NYC

For Experienced Cruisers: Tell me which cruise lines you have been on, where to and how you would rate them (1-10) and why.

Thank you in advance to EVERYONE!

  1. My personal preference is Royal Caribbean. Ive been to Carnival and Celebrity Cruises too but after going on the Adventure of the Seas (Voyager Class) from RC I think both lines (Carnival and Celebrity) are quite boring for me. In Royal Caribbean Cruises especially Freedom and Voyager Class mostly got ice skating ring, golf course, flow rider, rock climbing wall, teen disco, arcade, a water park, adventure ocean (a really good youth program) and the list goes on.

Their food is excellent and included in price like most cruise lines and theres always a friendly staff available to help you and make your vacation a good experience. I will definitly recommend you the Freedom of the Seas.

  2. I agree with the first answer, it sounds like Royal Carribean would best suit your needs.  I have cruised on both RC and Carnival.  Carnival markets itself as the big family friendly cruiseline, but I really think it's lacking.  It definately doesn't have the amenities onship like a skating rink, etc.

Also, I haven't ever seen all drinks included.  There are usually some sort of restaraunt where you can pay extra to go to, but you definatley won't need to.  There is ALWAYS something to eat somewhere and don't forget room service!  Water, coffee, and iced tea seem to be the standard freebies.  But, they do offer a souvenier cup for a price (like 10 dollars?) that you can refill for free.  If you really need that soda kick you can also bring your own cans or bottles and drink them in your room.  My parents even bought a case of Pepsi in Cozumel for the rest of our trip.

  3. i would have to say the disney cruise is the best for kids if u have kids .. any age but they dont have an ice skating rink but its fun ive been on it twice when i was like 10 and 11 or something like that b ut i might be going again.. when i graduate on teh new boat haha

im going to the meditratean on carnival freedom in 10 days!!

  4. I have been on about 20 cruises (3 more booked right now) with 4 different cruise lines so I'll give you my advice.

The best cruise line to meet your requirements would be Royal Caribbean but also you need to cruise on one of their Freedom Class  or Voyager Class ships.   Your requirements are most closely met by the Freedom Class ships (3 of them). You can look at the features of these ships on these two web links:

    Freedom Class:

    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

    Voyager Class:

    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

Both of these type ships have ALL of what you want and more.  Things like in addition, roller blading, a full sized basketball court, a program for kids called Adventure Ocean that includes a special area on ships just for kids and professional staff persons to supervise them in free programs all day.  I have cruised on both of these type ships multiple times and they are fabulous.  The Voyager class ships are a somewhat smaller version of the Freedom class and have a few things that are different.

You can get cruises on these ships out of Port Canaveral, Ft Lauderdale, and Miami, Florida and also out of Puerto Rico.

I have cruised on Princess, Norwegian and Celebrity and I would rate Royal Caribbean second only to Celebrity and Princess.  BUT RC does have the most things to do on the ship than any of the other cruie lines I have been on.

  5. Hhhmm tough question but so far the cruise lines that are best for family cruises are Disney Cruise Line, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess.
