Which cruise lines are best for kids other than Disney?

My husband and his extended family want to plan a cruise. We've all been to Disney and want to find one that is great for kids too. Which cruise lines have lots to offer to kids and adults?

The best cruise line  to go on with kids is Royal Caribbean.  It has the most on-board activities for kids and the other cruise lines cannot compare.  Royal Caribbean is also a cruise line that caters to young cruiser and families. It has things like ice skating, roller blading, mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, the rock climbing wall, and on the new Freedom Class ships the surfing simulator, the Flowrider.   It has an area on its ships called Adventure Ocean which has programs for kids of all ages between 3 and 17.  It has a special teen disco area that is open until 2:00AM each evening.  The RC ships that you should look for cruises on are the RC's Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships. After Royal Caribbean the next best would be Carnival.  Carnival is the budget cruise line that generally has the lowest prices. They cater to young people, first time cruiser and families. The best of their ships are their newer ships so do pay attention to when the ship was launched is you find a really cheap cruise.

While Carnival is good for kids, you will have a much better cruise on Royal Caribbean.

I took my kids on a Carnival cruise last year and Camp Carnival was going on all day every day and the kids loved it.  It was completely free and you could use it (or not) whenever you wanted.  My kids were 4 and 8 at the time, and had different activities based on their age group.

Consensus choice is Carnival but depends on ages, itineraries, etc.

I'd say the next runner up would have to be Carnival. They have Camp Carnival for children, and Club 2o for teens. The kids would also enjoy Funship Freddy.

I would definitely say Royal Caribbean. It has so much to do on board!  It has a surfing wave pool, basketball court, mini golf course, pool, hot tub, rock climbing wall, roller rink, ice skating rink, and sports pool.  Also with great restaurants for kids like Johnny Rockets on board.  For adults, you can do any of the above, and there is an adult only pool, spa, casino, bars, and hot tubs.
