Question:

Which cultivar of Heuchara do you think looks the best and which blooms the longest and deals with heat best?

also could you describe the way it looks, when it blooms and for how long ?

(have an area that receives around 5 hours of sun in zone 6 b)

    i have a lovely purple heuchera which lives in the shade of a rosemary so gets less than 5 hours sun and does fine.

    if you look at the above link you'll see that for eg Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' (try to resist buying that one! :)) is happy just about anywhere with any level of shade.

    heuchera are really pretty, so it would be nice to have a mix of diff coloured leaves.

  2. I like Heuchera sanguinea Bressingham hybrids.  Bressingham Blaze has bright red bell shaped flowers from June to September.  Height 12 to 18 inches.  Plant in a sunny position in light well-drained soil.  Try to provide some shade when it is very hot.

    Others:

    Bressingham Bronze has deep purple foliage.

    Palace Purple is a cultivar and it has bronze leaves.
