  1. GBP is acceptable in many country and is major currency so you don't need to exchange to US Dollas. When you arrive at the airport, you can exchange to Bath in thailand.

  2. Dollar.

  3. US Dollars or ATM card.

  4. Just take a debit card marked with a Cirrus logo or any logo that ATM's will accept.. Only take the minimum of cash of wat ever currency

  5. Hi the first recommended currency for these places is USD travellers cheques. Have a great time!!

  6. My, you seem to have plenty of money to spare on getting AMEX tourist rates!

The best value is have a Nationwide bank account and use their debit card at the local ATM's - 1st they charge no fees, 2nd you get the mid-rate for currency change.

In English you will purchase around 5% MORE local currency for every £1 than you will ever get from AMEX rates.

  7. If you have GBP that is fine as it is one of the major currencies accepted. USD is also accepted.

  8. USD is better

You may change at the airport once landed.

    Thai Bhat for Thailand

    Ringgit Malaysia for Malaysia

    Indonesia Rupiah for Indonesia

I've recommend not to change more than USD 300 for each country currencie's.

  9. thai baht, ringgit, rupiah.

it's best you use local currencies unless you're only shopping in high end malls.

  10. I would take some local currency notes and the rest American Dollar travellers cheques that you can cash for the local currency in the banks or at the hotels. Banks are cheaper.

  11. US $$$ baby!! or any major currency

exchange it when u get there

the airport offers the best rates..

TAKE your GBP, its just as good if not better..

'what happens in Thailand , stays in Thailand..' have a gr8 time dude!!

  12. You can bring an ATM card for use in Thailand and Malaysia. The ATM services in hese 2 countries are good.

As for Indonesia, I will recommend US dollars. There is preferable exchange rate when converting from US dollars, and the larger and clean bills usually attract slightly better rate too. And change at the money exchange, not bank.

  13. Take dollars, they love dollars in asia because they can exchange them and get more money in their own currency.

  14. i used american dollars esp at the moment because the exchange rate is so good. In remoter areas and markets etc they may only take local currency so take some just in case. Money exchangers are everywhere where tourists can buy stuff so you can always change dollars.

  15. Take Dollara and exchange them there at the bank as needed.

  16. Don't bring Dollars, bring Pounds or Euros. The USD exchange rate is pathetic right now in Asia.

    Always exchange for local currency:

    Thailand Baht

    Malaysian Ringgit

    Indonesian Rupiah

In Thailand and Malaysia, mostly everyone will want the local currency, so be sure to exchange when you get there.
