Which day of the week could a month with five wednesdays start on? ?

If the month has 31 days the answer is monday. But is there a formula to find the answer? Tuesday is not part of the answer. How would you explain this to a 7th grader? Thanks

okay there is no specific formula as such but as they talk of five .........u can consider it as the last day of the week and proceed

if the month starts on sunday , it ends on tue .....and if it  starts on monday ,ends on wednesday and so on i.e

if sun=0

mon=1

tue=2

wed=3

thurs=4

fri= 5

sat=6

then the month starts on 0, it ends on 0+2 or starts on 1,it ends on 1+2

the above applies for month with 31 days

and for 30 days its

month starts on 0, it ends on 0+1 or starts on 1,it ends on 1+1

and for 28 days its

if it starts on sunday , it ends on saturday or if it starts on monday , ends on sunday  ( i.e the day before )

and for 29 days it begins and ends on the same day
