  1. I'd figure D because even if there were black body radiation (continous) from the tungsten coil there would be bands in the spectrum cancelled out (darkenned) because of the tungsten and nitrogen and oxygen, etc.

    Besides a contiuous spectum means that the energy would be infinitely high  at the high-frequency end so that's just not possible.
