Which dirt bike is better: a Yamaha YZ125 or Honda CR125?

Out of those two Yamaha has a better Rep for being an overall bike and more reliable. I would stick with a YZ.

BUT, 2 strokes are fading quickly and for a good reason. if you are trying to decide between those two on which bike to get, I HIGHLY reccomend you check out 250cc 4 stroke racing bikes ex. YZ250F or CRF250R ...         I have had both and so many people said that the yz125 would be better but when I actually tried it for myself, the 250F won by miles. just so much smoother and easier to ride.   Just try it before you go deciding, you won't regret it.

Both good bikes but it would depend upon what use you want to put them to.  For racing you would be better off getting a 4 stroke 250cc as the 2 stroke 125cc's are slowly disappearing off the grid as they are not quite as fast as the 4 strokes and usually end up in the same class so they have to compete against them.  For resale value you would most likely be better off with a 4 stroke as well.

i ride a kawasaki kx125... and i think a yz 125 is slightly more powerful than a honda... better throttle response... and to that guy talking about 4 strokes, who wants to ride an "easy" bike? i hate "smoother" rides... but it's actually all up to you.
