Hi.

I'm 15 and i'm 61kg and I'm 180cm tall. I was wondering what would be a better bike for me. a KTM 200Exc 2006 model or a XR250R 2004 model. I've just started riding in the last couple of months so I'm not that great yet and I don't have much confidence ethier. I've riden my friends Xr around a little and I can control it pretty well. But I've been reading reviews on EXC200's and i was thinking bout getting one of them. My friend said that I should get an XR but well yeah. If you could give me advice on what one to pick I'll be very thankfull

Cheers

Matt

P.S. I'll be mostly using it for trail riding and jumps

    ktm parts are expensive...

  2. I've raced KTM's for years and personally don't find the parts to be overly expensive. Both are great bikes but for different purposes. The XR is a bullet proof, reliable bike, but it is heavy and will not jump well at all. The XR is just a trail bike, whereas the KTM is a race bike that works very well as just a trail bike also. It will be much faster, much lighter, and have far better suspension than the XR. It really just depends on what you want out of the bike. If performance, weight and suspension isn't a big issue it is hard to beat an XR. On the other hand if these qualities are important to you the KTM 200 is one of the coolest woods racers on the market. The XR may be a little more appropriate for a first time rider, but you could handle either.
