Which discs do I need to copy photos/ or audio?

I realise that this question has been asked many times, but now I need to know.

I want to copy photos, from another disc. Can someone please explain CD-RW, and CD+RW codes?

any of these will do if you are looking at them on another computer, its when you need to play it on a stand alone player that you may have problems, the only way is to try one. the most common is CD-RW
