Which do atoms do, stay in the ground or float off after death?

Ok, some say they stay in the ground, plants live off of. Aren't atoms so small they could float off into say space?

no, atoms are usually bonded together in molecules, the screen you are reading this in, made up of molecules. it is not life that keeps these things together but simple chemistry. if you want a dead person to be vaporized try cremation that will put some of their matter in the air.
