Question:

Which do you believe is worse?

So earlier today my friend and I were wondering which scenario is worse: allowing your mind to cloud & make bad decisions, or being above the influence and still making a bad decision.

Ok, so let's say a teenage girl gets drunk and loses her virginity to some random guy, and then the following day she can barely remember what happened. This would be an example of allowing your mind to cloud and make a bad decision.

On the other hand, someone (hypothetically speaking), who's not under the influence of any alcohol or drugs, has s*x with her friend's 20-something year old brother in his car after she snuck out of the house at midnight. Let's say this girl is around 15.

So, which do you believe is worse? Making a bad decision while allowing your mind to cloud from drugs, drinking, etc? Or making poor choices while not being under the influence or anything?

  1. Before I wasn't sure, but I think it's the way you wrote it that changed my mind.

The 1st one is worst. You don't remember, so you don't learn from your mistakes.

  2. the one you did...

    (the second one!)

    :(

  3. Clouded mind.

  4. 2 wrongs don't make a right..each is the wrong decision..

    they are equally bad

  5. I would say the second because she is fully aware of what she is doing and does it anyway.

  6. They are both very poor choices but I say the second in this scenario is worse in my opinion because the girl slept with her friend's much older boyfriend willingly and knowingly. Oops brother, boyfriend still shouldn't be sleeping with a 15 year old.

  7. In the first scenario you have more than one bad decision. 1) drinking, especially to the point you are nearly blacked out. There is enough evidence for me to assert that this is very harmful to a growing body, i.e; a teen. 2) having s*x with a random guy. this one contains within it several possibilities. First, especially if it's at a party, your reputation would be in ruins. second, you have no way of knowing if this unknown guy has any STDs, or immunodeficiency diseases. Third and most obvious, the chance exists you could wind up pregnant by an unknown man who you'll never find for emotional OR financial support in the matter.

The second scenario: First, by sneaking out, you have violated your parents trust and there could be consequences from that. (naturally this applies to the first scenario also) You could wind up pregnant. Odds are you'd know if the known man had a disease of any kind, but the possibility still exists. At least, if you do wind up pregnant, you'd know who the father was and are likely to receive either emotional support, financial support or both.

Neither are good choices, but the first scenario is by far the worst.

Joi, she said brother, not boyfriend
