  1. I guess this is not a fair answer since I am a working pro and have been for over 30 years.

In the past six years since I started shooting with DSLR's, I have shot over 280,000 images using D100, D200, D300 and D3 cameras.  In the same time period, I have maybe shot 300 shots using a P&S camera.

  2. I love both my DSLR  both Nikon  a D50 and a D70

  3. I enjoy DSLR so much more.. Even if I just use auto mode.. Love the viewfinder much more than  shooting through the LCD screen. Love to hear the click click click sound..(shutter) Used Nikon D70, (not worth to sell for $300, its still such a good quality camera)  just got Nikon D300. Have a little Panasonic Lumix - for walking the dog or to make mini videos at home of the dog, catsor when I go just for hike to the same place I went a 1000 times. Just sold a month old Canon G9. Great camera, knows a lot but did not needed. If I need what it could do, I would use the digital SLR, if not, I just use the Lumix. I use digital SLR for macro, making infrared pictures, when going to places I haven't been or just to the Zoo...

  4. I love my SLR it takes much better pictures than my simple point and shoot.  The only draw back is that it does not fit in my purse.

  5. i much rather use my digital SLR rather than my point and shoot camera, although the point and shoot camera is very small and compact, and can fit in the pocket, i wouldn't sacrifice image quality for size any day.

the quality of a photo is most important to me. However, point and shoots can record videos, which no SLR style camera can do, so that's an advantage of a point and shoot camera. But, if i wanted video, i would take them both. However, for pictures in general, i'd have to say i'd rather by Digital SLR

also personally, i'd rather a digital SLR because it makes people look at me and envy, and it makes me look more professional, i mean, what's so professional about a point and shoot camera?

  6. Point and shoot - it's much easier.
