would you be most likely to shop for your wedding at...

1. a "green" wedding store with eco-friendly and fair trade wedding items, and consigned wedding dresses

2. a wedding resale/consignment store with various wedding items that had been gently used or were new

3. an overstock type wedding place, like tjmaxx except for wedding stuff

4. a one-stop wedding DIY wedding store with stations for each area of your wedding needs, like one for centerpieces, one for lighting, etc., including consigned dresses

5. or like a mini wedding show with various vendors who offer special deals for a limited selection, like you can pick one of three cakes, and one of three centerpieces, etc but at a guaranteed lower price, and saving time

6. an ethereal wedding store with whimy wedding things that are unique and full of character

  1. i like 2 and 3

  2. i think i would go to 1, 2 & 6.

  3. 1, but to really make it take off make sure you provide all the information on the various things you provide, because I want to make sure that it's actually eco-friendly. I don't trust retailers with this in general, and if you're just starting up that would include you - I know places that consider bio-degradable plastic to be a good thing.

Good that you're including consignment in there, many people forget that used stuff is normally the greenest option.

  4. 4 one stop shop!

  5. If I had all the options in my area,i would look at them all.  You want to get the best deals.  Plus if you just shopped at one place like TJ Maxx your wedding may end up looking like a number of other weddings.  I would get things from different places, that way it would be more unique. I personally wish I had a place like number1 or number six close by.

I just read the other answers.  If you are asking because you are planning are starting a business ,  then do a combo of #1,#2 and #6.  One is a great idea and would bring in money because green is so big right now.  As far as adding number two, whats more green that recycling ?  Have a consignment section.  Ethereal would sale great too.

  6. I'm voting for #1 again!

I think, in this day and age it's the most original and you will get a lot of business from it.  Everyone is trying to do the right thing and go green, and weddings are one event that is typically very wasteful, so a wedding is an excellent time to invest the money to be eco-friendly!

    Good luck!

  7. I think i answered this question yesterday, and I still like No. 4. I think that brides on a budget are looking for more DIY options. Many are online, and craft stores have limited options because they're not a wedding store. I know that if there were  more DIY wedding stores out there, I'd be a much happier bride because I hate  ordering stuff online for fear that when I get it, it's not exactly what the picture looked like (especially colors, since they vary monitor to monitor).

I don't like No. 5 just because I don't think there's a market for that. I think that there ARE brides who just want to make selections and be done with it, but most want to be picky and choosy, and not have only three selections - especially when they know many other brides will have the exact same thing.

No. 2 - Not unique enough. People will probably still use craigslist and eBay. Plus, many second-hand stores carry wedding dresses and such already. Also brides, don't like to donate their dresses to stores  if they're looking to get money back for them because they won't get as much as when someone buys it directly from them.

The other two are okay, but I don't see if as something that would lead  to a booming business. The green thing is SO hot right now (as it should be!) but it's probably better in a more urban location or online.

  8. I would personally go either 5 or 6, however I'm quite intrigued by option 1 as it's so topical - the store would get loads of publicity. A kind of body shop for weddings...?

  9. I'd go with #4. Part of the fun of planning a wedding is doing it yourself and seeing the finished product. Hope this helps!

  10. 6.

Very much like a home goods store. It's nice to find little things that you can buy that no one else has and its nice to walk around and get ideas.

I like all of options though. #1 is nice because "green" is the new thing to do being very ecofriendly. #2 is nice because you don't exaclty need all new things at your wedding. None of them will be used again and I like the idea. #4 makes a lot of sense is actually a great idea. I love the stations and the orginization. #5 is not my thing, but many would be interested in it.

    EDIT:

I forgot #3 which was one of my favroties. I love places like Tjmaxx especially when it comes to decorating at reasonable prices. If there was a wedding store like that, I'd buy everything in it.

  11. I'll go with the 6th

  12. 1 is the best, I think, because being "green" is kind of the new buzzword these days, what with "An Inconvenient Truth" and all that, and I'm sure many brides these days are concerned with having a "green" wedding, so you'd probably get a lot of business, especially if you opened the store in a "crunchy" town like Boulder or Berkeley.

I also like #3- if such a place existed, I'd probably buy all my wedding stuff there, since I love stores like Ross and TJ Maxx.

  13. I would go with the overstock type store. You would probably be able to get things for a cheaper price that way.

  14. I would go with number 5 that way you will save money and time. Number 6 isn't bad, one would have one like ours

  15. 2

  16. i too vote for option 5 or 6

  17. now you can't give anything other then 10  points and you just  promised to me and everyone else 10 points LOL

sorry had to poke some fun!!!! :)

    I like number 4,3, 1, and 2

wow you got some good idea's I think the #4 would bring in more money

  18. i would say #4. it's a little overwhelming to shop for everything piece by piece, and having lots of options and ideas right there for everything. and i think a lot, even most brides are looking for ways to personalize things and do it themselves. this would be a great idea!

  19. 5

  20. option 5 and 6 r better amongst all......
