Which do you like better: New or Old basketball?

Question

In old basketball...it was more about the fundamentals and getting the ball in the hoop.

In new basketball...it's more about who looks the fanciest when passing and shooting.

Which do you enjoy watching more? And why? Opinions and thoughts...?

Since the player played cause they wanted to. Not like the players now who hold teams hostage sucking all their money so they can have elaborate house and 37 mercedes-benzs.

old basketball. but not for the reason you listed. bob cousey, magic johnson, mark jackson, tim hardaway, and so on were some of the flashiest passer the league has ever seen. jordan was a flashy shooter as was dr. j and pistol pete, george gervin and so on...

the reason i picked old school was because there were less teams and better players. most teams back then had really good bench players and were deep. now days you have really good bench players as starters because of expansion teams and salary caps.

i think the new school is watered down. the talent is coming though. i do believe that. i'll watch either one. but for true competitive basketball i prefer the "old" school. but i give points to the better uniforms today. some of those old uniforms were hideous.

I'm an old school basketball all the way.  I got to watch MJ, Magic, Larry, Isiah, and some of Dr. J in theri prime.  Still haven't seen a group of players like that in today's game.  And when i mean old, anybody that's 21 years or younger is a kid to me.

I like the old school basketball, like in the 80s. I was very little but teams actually played as a team, it makes it fun to watch.

I don't think today's ball is more about "fanciest passing/shooting" at all. It's just become more technical. It's evolved. Players aren't purposely trying to look "fancy," they're just doing what they feel will get the ball to the basket better. Just look at Deron Williams, he's easily one of the best dribblers in the league. He's got a killer cross-over. He's not doing it to look fancy (maybe just a little but), he's doing it to lose his defender to drive to the hole, or penetrate and draw more defenders then dish out to the open shooter. So there are players who to try to play like it's a playground, but there are also players like Deron that do more out of necessity.

So with that said, I like today's ball. But I miss the days of Stockton-to-Malone.

i did like old school dunks better because it was all about the moves instead of a blowing a cupcake candle dunk. but i like new basketball.

old. they had more better players back then like jordan,magic,wilt, kareem, bill russell, etc. the only bad thing is the short shorts.
