  1. skiing by far! snowborders just sit on there butts and think they are so cool because they are on a snowboard. skiing is hard work and it is a challenge and fun.

  2. I prefer skiing, but I have friends who board and we all go hit the slopes together.  However, it does kind of bug me when boarders get on a slope that's to steep for them and they plow all the good snow off.

  3. I love snowboarding.  I've been doing it since I was little.  At first I would just go to local hills but in the later years I've been going to resorts to snowboard.  Theres nothing like carving down the mountain on a snowboard.  I haven't tried skiing but I can't imagine it being more fun.  Maybe it is fun, however.  If you are wondering this question for you, I would say try both or try what you think would be the most fun first.  If you are just wondering in general, I enjoy snowboarding :)

  4. Snowboarding definitely. Having been a very keen skier from age 4 thru to my teens I was bitten by the snowboarding bug fairly late on. There are many parallels between the 2 sports but also massive differences. I think it s a bit of a generalisation to say that snowboarders think they own the mountain - thats def, not my experience, if youd said terrain park perhaps Id agree! Snowboarding is a great fun and a rapidly growing activity across a huge age range and is also  encouraging more people into our sport. Of course there  will always be the few that give us a bad name but the same can be said for skiers. I agree it s frustrating when someone heel slides down a run thats too advanced for them - but man does it also suck when you get stuck between an edge to edge timid skier driving like miss daisy on a cat track with a flat (where its crucial for you to get some speed to avoid the dreaded un necessary walk) yet somehow you cant get past without causing upset by means of 1) Terrifying, 2)Fall by fright 3)Shrieks of fear. Any rider or skier who overfaces themselves before they're ready is plain annoying.

However for me there is nothing better than riding the mountain on a fresh powder day feeling like your gliding on air, finding all the little jibs and kickers, going into the trees or just doing sliding turns and carving and all in boots that are comfortable to walk home in! I am truly converted and it is highly unlikely I will spend more than 1 week each season on skis.

  5. Snowboarding.  I've done both and I found snowboarding to be more fun and appealing for me.

The learning curve is much different - on skis you can get up and running down the mountain very quickly but to progress from a "can do it" skiier to a good skiier is very hard.  On a snowboard it's hard to get up the first time and to be able to make the turns and make it down the run without falling but once you've got that you're golden and the higher level skills come pretty quickly.

Don't buy into the lame skiiers vs snowboarders thing.  It's garbage.  What it boils down to is that some people suck and some of them happen to ski and some happen to snowboard.

  6. I have only skied before. I dont really like snowboarders cause they think they own the place. Well sometimes skiers do too but now as much.
