I'm real particular about how those are made so it's rare for me to eat them out and I don't make them very often at home.  I really prefer waffles.  If I was really put on the spot to choose one of the two it would be pancakes.

It depends on where I am eating, but generally I prefer pancakes. However, there are some places in my neighborhood that make better French toast than pancakes.
