its summer and i'm confused in which school i will go. since we just migrated here in canada, i'm a newbie. well, in my opinion, i'd like to try going to a public school cause first of all, its the nearest one here(only a bus away), i don't like wearing crappy uniforms anymore, and i think its a lot more fun going there. BUT my mom says that she wants me to go to a private school cause she wants the quality education that the school could give, which i also consider. i'm really confused! please help me decide in what kind of school should i go to, before its too late. its already august! only a month away!. if you may, please give reasons...

thnx!!:D

  1. go to private school. the staff getspaidmoreandwilltake moreeffort in their job than the public system. employers always look twiceand sayhowmuch your paretnscared for you because they were willing to payfor education

  2. I would recommend going to a public school, too. I'm currently working on an associate's degree from a local community college that I absolutely love, that has taught me more than I ever could have imagined learning -- and that hasn't cost my family a fortune!

One of my teachers there was a progressive sociology professor who has gotten degrees from Harvard and several other high-profile universities, and he swears the best school he's ever attended was his community college (which nobody's ever heard of)! What does that say to you?

  3. public i love my public school its less excpensive and its o much more fun!!!

  4. ive beeen in private since preschool and when i reached up to 2nd all the way thru 10th grade i was in public so i dunno i prefer public u can

meet freinds faster and therez not that much of anything really at private except that u get to learn more about the lord therez bible studies and u get to have ur own bible buddies to that go with u in da church inside the school and u sit wit dem and everythin lol but neways PUBLIC WAYY BETTER IF U ASK ME =]

  5. Hello!

Were are you from?  Welcome to the wonderful country of Canada!

I go to a public school, and it's tons of fun!  You get to dress anyway you want (except for inappropriate stuff), there's tons of school spirit, hot guys (lol :D), and you have a great time!

I would recommend going to a public school because I know kids that go to a private school and they don't like it.  There isn't a difference in education, teachers are teachers, some are better then others.  They wouldn't have hired them if they can't teach!

The problem with school in general is there's drama and popularity.  But, that's to be expected!

I hope this helped make your decision a little bit easier.

Have fun in Canada, I love it here and hopefully you will too!

  6. public

  7. I went to both as a child and the only difference in my education was the price my parents had to pay .

  8. private

  9. PRIVATE!

you get SO much more help and benifits!!!

  10. Public school is much better!

  11. public school there is good education there and well you can just make a good carrer, go to college and university..!

  12. i would go private if you want to be more behaved.

public if you want to deal with all the drama, and popularity

  13. i prefer privet cuz i go to a prive schol but i also hate wearing unforms so i know where your coming from

  14. Neither. Homeschooling is the way to go. But if I had to choose probably Private.

  15. public for sure. i think you have more freedom in public. its way more fun! plus uniforms are depressing.

but yeah, i would choose public. =)

  16. You should decide to go wherever you feel more comfortable going to. But personally I regret going to a public school everyday, you truly do get a better education in a private school.

  17. got to a public school

  18. i went to a private school my freshman and sophomore years.  the school was great i loved it.  the education was a lot more advanced in the private school. the downsides of it were the uniform and the smaller classes but the education stand point were a lot better. in my junior and senior year of high school i went to a public school. the education was less advanced and very easy for me. the students were also a lot meaner and snobbier then the private school.  it all depends on what is better for you

  19. public

i like to be like other people who are poor

  20. Private school. I went to a private school up till now, I never wore uniforms. Now I'm probably going to Arlington High School in Riverside CA

  21. private

because you dont get into fights, you dont get cussed at, you get better education, and you get more respect.

ps, if you go to a private school for instance, you are going into 6th grade, in 6th grade at a private school you are doing 7th grade work at a public school.

Trust me im going to a private school now and been there for 6 years, when im done going there i will have been going there for 9 years!

  22. I am a grandmother and helped raise children's children.  I would think my opinion really has a lot of weight.  First of all, I don't think it is you decision to make.  Please, please, trust your you mom on this.  Quality of education, which you are considering, is in my favor also.  Believe you me, there is plenty of time for "fun", and uniform is not all that bad.  Here in FL, public schools are almost all "uniform school".  Takes a lot of pressure off you.  Kids here are allowed jean (plain, no logo or designs) shorts (to the knee) and pants, worn with belt and school t-shirt tucked in.  So if you can afford the fancy stuff, you can strutt your stuff somewhere else.  Kids are not treated any different from others because of their "look".  Now depending on your age and where you go to school, in public school you are treated more as a "#" where private, you are followed more closely as an individual.  Now, I am not saying your education is missing out...but I know some public schools have more programs and public support to finance some of those programs.  I can asure you, if your private school is an accredited school, your teachers are probably making less $$$ than if they worked in public schools and most teach there because they do not like what they see in public schools.  In the many years I've followed my children and grandchildren though their school years, provided tuition was no question, we would put private schools on top of the list, especially for elementary and middle school.  Hopefully by the time you reach high school age, you would know to follow your heart and look for the school that is the best to allow you to persue higher education....unless of course, that means absolutely nothing to you...or you are learning disabled and public schools are better equiped to help you.  I have a grandaughter whose public schools have totally failed her (passing her because she did the work, but does not know her academics).  She was lucky enough to find a school where she says, teachers are interested in her success.  You can look up ngycp .com,

  23. Public is a way better experience

  24. go to the private school, why? because it seems more challenging, more tedious, more crafty, and could toughen you up,make you stronger, can make you realize the system, plus not everyone has the opportunity to study in a private school and get a higher education, a serious training that would help you later in college,im have been fortunate to have been able to study in a private school in our country and it has prepared my mind to face unbelievable challenges in college--if i may dare say so,college has been easier because i was trained to face it in high school.

  25. It really depends on the quality of the public school (and the private one at that), but in general I would say public. You learn more social skills and ways to interact will all kinds of people that you will meet in the "real world." Save your money for college.

  26. public

becasue to me the girls are hotter at public

and thier is more school spirit and better sports

  27. Public, most Private schools you are NOT allowed to talk to anyone at all, you are only allowed to talk to the teacher or principal

  28. Some people love private schools, some hate them. Some private schools will give you a far superior education, others will be just about as good as the public schools in the area.

Some public schools suck (mine did). But I still wouldn't have paid money to take my chances at a maybe-good-maybe-not private school. However, if the education offered is a lot better, it may be a good decision.

No matter where you go, if you work hard you can get a good education. You're ultimately responsible for that.

My vote is for public school. At the very least, it doesn't cost money, and you'll maybe learn a couple things you wouldn't learn at a private.

  29. well the private schools here are that great, so id say public.

Its really great being in a very social public setting :)

  30. BOTH! I like both. I go to this great private school for 1 yr & then I change to this public school. Then I go to this private school for 1 yr & then public school again.- It just keeps going on. I like public schools with all the drama, popularity................. stuff. I like private schools because the education is better. Contact me if you want to know more.

  31. GO TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL, DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID, SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
