Which do you think is the easiest to manage - a large garden or a small garden with just a lawn?

I would have though that the amount of effort is directly related to the area of the garden, but maybe I'm missing something here.

you will have less cutting to do with a small garden.

the lawn but you still need to cut it every 2 weeks in the summer.

It depends what is in the large garden. It is possible to plant ground cover and shrubs in a large garden to reduce the maintenance to compare with a small lawned garden. Also large paved areas/decking will cut down work in a large garden. It all depends on what is there unless of course your 'large' garden is huge!
