Which do you think is the right drinking age limit; 21 (in most of USA) or 18 (in UK)?

18, you can vote, have children, drive and get married at this age. Its abit pathetic to say you can't drink but you can do the rest.

Actually they should raise it to 25.

The leading cause of death of young adults, in the US, is car accidents. Most are drunk driving related.

In my state (Michigan) we tried lowering the legal drinking age to 18.  Alcohol-related crime and accidents soared.  We put it back to 21, and they dropped off.  That tells me that the 18-20 year olds don't know how to handle it yet, at least in the US.

I like having it at 21 - it reduces the odds that I'll meet a drunk teenager while driving.

Maybe the solution to the other complaints is to raise the legal age for marriage, voting, etc. back to 21?  (And I bet THAT suggestion earns me a few "thumbs down".)

It should be 21.  I think the UK 18 year olds have

proved they can not handle it.

It's not the drinking age that is the problem in the UK, it's the drinking to get drunk culture.

I think 18 is reasonable especially if its for the UK because at 16 you can get married have a job the fact you can't drive makes no sense to me if you can do those other things. Also at 18 you go to university and have a good time, i don't see how you can watch something horrific on t.v yet not be allowed to drink at that age. If it is made more a crime its only going to happen alot more as well.

it is ridiculous to think that you can be a student at university for 3 years and not be allowed to drink

if the govt think youre mature/responsible enough at 18 to be sent possibly to your death fighting for their and our freedom, it is insane to then say youre not old enough to drink
