  1. in the middle

  2. Rear if that large best get a bigger canoe>Or store supplies in the middle>

  3. On the dock

  4. Normally, the heavier person should sit in the rear, but the person in the rear is responsible for steering, put the heavy in the front tomorrow.

  5. river or lake?

on a lake, put the heavier person in the stern...whichever end floats higher in the water will catch more wind and you don't want it turning you around.

on a river especially with white water, I think you want experience in the stern.  if you particularly want to stay dry.

  6. I don't know what kind of canoe you have, so this is somewhat of a guess... but... if you want to maintain control, you need to be in the back...

If possible... depending on the arrangement of your canoe, if it were me, I would put the other person in the front - but as far back as you possible can, so that the canoe remains as level in the water as possible... the center of your canoe will widen out... and thats where your weight needs to be, too far toward the bow, or at the stern near the narrow ends - a really big person will tip your canoe and Tyler too... And if the other person is "REALLY" big... you want them seated as low in the canoe as possible... so, a good knee pad or seat pad on the floor would work best to keep you more stable in the river....

  7. Have them sit in front of you as far back as possible.

If you are experienced you should supervise the one who is inexperienced. You should also be more able to control the direction of the craft than your friend.

Just try to balance the weight as best you can.

    Wear life vests.

  8. towards the middle, either way, if the big person rolls the canoe over, your getting wet.

  9. the back....it doesn't really matter that much thought
