Which engineering line has a greater scope today?

Mechanical engineering would be what i would consider to have the greater scope, along with the most exciting topic areas.

I am studying mechanical engineering and I find that I can apply to many different companies for placements as the degree so far has been very general.

I have covered modules in dynamics, structures, mechanics, fluids, thermodynamics.

if you want general i think its the way to go!!

All the above answres are good and what I think is true.

You can go fo any branch but not incomputers and IT because what I think IT companies have reached a saturation point.

Most likely chemical engineering. It's one that leads pretty much into any field of engineering, because it's the physical sciences under one name. You have the physics and the chemistry which gives a wide range of opportunities.

All Engineering are good.but you will have a greater scope when you take the specialization in each.For example in Electrical Engineering there are many type of Engineers like Installation Engineer,Commissioning Engineer,Protection Engineer,Operation Engineer,Maintenance Engineer.

So you have to choose yourself which  specialization will suit for you in any kind of Engineering
