I am an A/V designer with access to several brands of better cables, some of which I haven't yet used. Among them are Monster(please don't hate), ProLink, Tributaries, Ultralink, Key Digital. What do you guys think? What have you tested? And who is your favorite?

  1. Alright..... no offence. i dont like monster. I am an audio visual specialist. Some ones that i really like that are same quality and maybe even better is Stellar Labs. It great. as for speaker i love west pen twisted pair 14 gauge speaker cable like 10 cents a foot and it sounds better than monster because it is twisted pair and it rejects interference more than monster's straight cable. I also like parts express brand. Umm...... i also like my brand. I make most of my own cables.

  2. I prefer cables made with coax that has a bandwidth in the 90-100 Mhz range.  By 'bandwidth', I mean the -3db point.

If the cable does not tell you the frequency response, I tend to not use the brand.

Note: most professionals dont buy retail cables like Vampire, Ultralink, etc.  They buy spools of Belden, Canare, Mogami coax and custom build the wires they need.  This is the way broadcast studios & production houses are wired.
