On average, what race do you think experiences more hauntings? Of those, which ethnic group experiences more hauntings? I know the show, "A Haunting" did an episode in Arizona with a Mexican family. But has anyone ever seen a show with black people experiencing anything? And no, I am not politically correct so live with it. I am asking an honest question and would like to see honest answers with some forethought please.

  1. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

That's an answer I'd like to know too! I'm really confused about it because of my own experiences..which I'm not going to talk about. I hope there are some African American people on here who will help answer this..because I'd  really like to know what their general beliefs are. I do know that a lot of them go to church  a lot...but I'm not sure if they experience hauntings..or even believe it can happen..or think they're demons and not spirits.  I know that where I worked..there were a few into Santaria. I do know that Mexicans have experiences..and a lot of them are involved in Santaria. Tha'ts not ALL spiritual. I think they  drug people etc. too. I could be wrong. I've had to research about Santaria..but  can't remember much about it.Just know I don't like it...to put it mildly.

Edit..I found this..in one of your favorite haunted states!

Think I just messed up that last link! Sorry! Wanted to send you what someone said on Philosophy section

She has a black avatar..so is probably African American.

    I didn't say this..she did!

I don't, but maybe that's because I've never seen them. Actually I don't know any black people who have ever seen ghosts. Maybe they are racist :)

  2. :-O

Well, as for the Mexican or Latina Americans, they are a very religious & spiritual people.  Note, that they celebrate the Day of the Dead.  Kinda like honoring the dead.  I believe they have a greater respect for the dead & their spirits.

As for the african americans, they do experience them, but choose not to speak of it, at least that is my experience from speaking to some.

I don't think that one race sees more than the other, I just think that some races are MORE excepting & open than others.  JMHO

edited:  Maybe because they don't report it as much.  The innkeeper for Myrtles Plantation, had stated she had wittnessed such activity.  Then again tho think of what her back round might be.  Here is their link:  http://www.myrtlesplantation.com/sightin...

Down in Louisiana.  They also sell Voodoo Dolls there as well.  Voodoo/Hoodoo.

Edited:  The Ghost Hunter, what makes you think religion has NOTHING to do with a haunting????  You really need to do some research on this subject!!

Here is a sight that shows various implements:   http://www.tofm.org/papacy/torture.htm

  3. ok, since we went there...let me give you the benefit of my firsthand experience.

I have done 2 investigations that had actual paranormal activity that involved private residences belonging to 2 different black families.  Obviously since it is a private residence I will not be going into any details except to say that these very sane, rational families were out of their mind scared.

After the investigation was over at one of the homes and a resolution happened, we had that conversation.  Within the culture, there is a common knowledge that ghost and spirits do exist.  But they are also taught that it is evil in all cases and should be avoided.  So over the years it has been treated as something to be feared, not investigated.  It was reported to me that there are many incidences that involve the paranormal that is "kept quiet".  It is always the hope that if no one says anything, it will go away.

The hispanic culture embraces the dead.  They have a celebration.  I am sorry, I know no spanish, so I can't give you the name, but they cook for the departed family members and celebrate.

The Indian culture do believe in ghost and spirits and reincarnation.

Native American Indians are open to the idea as well.

As luck would have it, I have two members of my team who are non white.  So I have someone that I can sit and talk to about the cultural differences and how they are affected by hauntings.

    Hope that helped.

  4. Haunts will have NOTHING to do with religion.  It has everything to do with the individual themselves.  What were thay like?  What was it that made them unhappy in death?  Every religion, race, everyone in history has dealt with misery.  Death, pain, torchure, and love.  All of these thing giving someone a reason to search the afterlife for answers.

  5. These shows like any TV programing, are aimed at the largest audience.Which as we know is white. It's just that simple

  6. Not sure how to go about my answer here because of the word "haunts".  I tend to relate a whole group of concepts together, such as paranormal, supernatural, ghosts, haunts, esp, etc.

So to answer referring to a particular people, I automatically think of Native Americans, as their traditions and way of life have always been involved with the spirit world.  They have shamans, Vison Quests, Dream/ Vision interpreters, Seers, Sweat Lodges, the concept of Animal Totems, and so much more.  Their history is rich with predictions from hundreds of years back.  I have a lot of my own books and have also borrowed some old books from a Native American Library, in which I was astounded with the information I learned.  It is of major interest to me.

Also, many of the Eastern Cultures are steeped in precognitive / spiritual-related abilities.  For now, though to submit an answer, I will go with North American Aboriginal peoples.

  7. Come to think of it I haven't ever seen a show about black people experiencing hauntings. But I know we do experience hauntings. My dad sees his great grandmother on occasion, my younger sister has always seen ghosts and I believe one of the ghosts that lived in the house where I grew up followed me to my house to see where I was now living. It may have left via jumping into my mom's car to get back home, since I have not been aware of it lately.

To answer your question, it's probably about even, since every ethnic group has had many tragic deaths throughout human history.

  8. I don't believe any particular race see's spirits more or less than any other. I think it has to do with their own cultural & regional beliefs.

I also think that here in the U.S. the consensus is if you see or hear something then find a good psychiatrist, yet in the European countries it is an accepted thing. So a African, or Asian in Europe will have the same belief about hauntings.

While if you put that same races here or in their Heritage countries it would be a completely different story.

  9. Just for the record, there is a big culture of ghosts and hauntings in many parts of East Asia, which we in the west are not very familiar with. It's a big part of this region just like alien abductions are a big part of American culture.
