  1. Snow skiing has been around for much, much longer. As long as 5000 years old, actually.

  2. Both of these links will give you a brief history of the development of these activities. Skiing goes back as far as 5000 years ago in Norway it is believed then spread throughout Scandinavia into Russia.  Alpine skiing a little more modern 1850 was the first recorded contest.

Here's the one for water skiing- from the water ski hall of fame a history time line that says 1922 invented by Ralph Samuelson.

  3. water skiiing dumasss

  4. Back in 40,000 BC, Fred Flintstone dragged his buddy Barney Rubble behind a pterodactyl-powered power boat. Snow skiing is much more recent, as mountains and snow were only invented in 1922.

  5. Guy calls you a dumbass and then answers the question wrong. What a fool.

Snow skiing has been done in Eurpoe for centuries. Snowshoe Thompson pioneered snow skiing in California in the late 1800's carrying the mail across the Sierras in the winter on what we would call today cross country skis.

Water skiing obviously had to wait for power boats. Turns out it was invented in Minnesota in 1922, see the article below.
