Which fan creates more air: 3, 4, or 5 blades?

I want to get a fan for my back porch, and my husband was saying he heard that 3 blades created more air flow. Is this true?

It doesn't matter how many blades there are. Its all about the pitch of the blades.  The bigger the motor the more air the fan will move. Manufactures size the motors for amp draw. The higher the amp draw the more air the fan is moving.

Look at cubic feet per minute numbers on the box to get an idea of how well the ceiling fan moves air.  A higher number means more air movement.
