Sky

Or

Gerda

(pronounced kind of weird, short g, long e, short r, ends in "da" like the russian "yes")

(It's from a Russian movie from the name of this Ice queen. She was bad in the beginning but turned good at the end.)

Pick either or please.

Thanks!

  1. I like Gerda better...more unique.  However, if people mispronouncing her name is going to bother you, then go with Sky because the majority of the English speaking world is going to mispronounce Gerda unless they know you and know how it's supposed to be pronounced.

  2. hi,

The Labrador Retriever originally hails from Canada, but he seems as American as apple pie and baseball; after all, the Lab's been the most popular breed in the U.S. for 17 years straight. Whether you've got a boy dog or a girl dog, these Labrador Retriever names evoke the friendly, sporty, down to earth qualities that make the Lab the quintessential family dog.

    here's a variety of choices:

  3. i LOVE the name sky for a dog.. we just got a pit bull puppy and i considered naming her that.. Gerda is cute but i would definately go with sky!

  4. Gerda.

  5. When I hear 'Sky' I think of a lighter color so I would go with 'Gerda'

  6. I think Gerda would suit her better, being black and all.

  7. I'd go with Sky, but spelt with an E at the end. (Skye).

The name Gerda has a hard pronounciation, and can be misleading. If you want the name Gerda, which is really unique, I'd go for a different spelling.

They're both good names, but Sky(e) doesn't really suit a black lab only because, when people think of it, they think of a light blue colour.

Or, you could fuse the names Sky(e) and Gerda together! To make Skerda. Nah, that sounds weird. The ultimate decision is up to you.

  8. sky

  9. sky

  10. Pick Gerda. It's unique

  11. Sky is a pimpin name

  12. Sky, but spelt Skye.

  13. I would go with Gerda because it's less common and interesting.

  14. I think Gerda is a great name. If you don't mind telling people how to constantly pronounce it though. Plus it will have a story behind it.

Sky is good too but I see it as a lighter colored dogs name.
