Hi,

I am a 14 year old female and im trying to find a type of fighting class ( boxing, tae kwon do, etc.) that will get me abs, muscles, good fighting skills, able to fight no matter how big the opponent is, and self defense. I am just afraid that if I get into fights I can smash them.

  1. pretty much any martial art will get you in shape, but be careful because many teachers will tell you that you that you can't fight outside the dojo no matter what

  2. Boxing teaches you more than boxing. teaches you how to make decisions and make it in life

  3. Any martial art that is practiced is going to build your body.  May I suggest Wing Chun.  It is Chinese boxing, works well at close range, in small spaces and anybody can do it regardless of size; being small or female is no obstacle!  If you want to perfect your form, however, and learn to fight more instinctual per your chosen martial art, well, that takes practice, awareness and time.

And sister, you can already “smash them,” you just need to convince yourself!

  4. well why don't you look around and see what gyms will take on young girls to teach them how to fight. before you do though you need to make up your mind on what you want to learn. tae kwon do and boxing are very different from one another and its best to chose on or the other to train in.

here are some important questions to ask whether is is a martial arts like tae kwon do or a martial arts like boxing to ask your potential instructor...

1.Have you ever used your martial arts in a full contact competition?

    2. Have any of your students ever competed in a full contact competition and how well did they do?

You don't want to learn from someone who has never used martial arts outside of the gym.

  5. It's not gona happen sorry to dissapoint you...that takes years and years of training... i do boxing, 3 times a week is good becuase it keeps you fit and the sparing shows you how hard you really are.

  6. if you want abs go on the run for a Track Team in your school! and at the same time do Tae Kwon Do..because you get a combination of flexibility and stamina! and I know you wanna smash on people..lol dont be afraid! just smash!

  7. Love to hear a girl talk like that. Peel away the barbies and the ponies and theres some real aggression inside. Check out the martial arts board too. Boxing is good, especially against an untrained opponent.

Why do you want to smash some people anyway?

  8. Boxing More Defence
