I have a 80gb limited edition PS3. I just got final fantasy 7,8, and 12. I am going to start on 8. Is this game possible to beat? It is 4 disks long. Or should I play 12 or just have the fun playing 8..

  1. Go in order, Play 7 first, because it really broke out the Genre, then 8, though I don't think it was that good, if you could get your hands on a copy of 9 it would be better, because 9 was the best one of the series so far (in my opinion).  12 is kind of a departure, I didn't really like it.  The one thing to remember is to explore everywhere, if you can go to a town half the world away between storyline excerpts, do it, that's the easiest way to get up in levels and find out "hidden" items and magic without too much effort.

  2. Start with 8, then 7, then 12 (btw, I barely played 12.  I didn't like it that much).

I dunno if there is one thing to keep in mind, however I've been playing FF for a while, but I started with FF I and II on the Gameboy Advance.  One thing I always do is look at an online walkthrough.  There will be some important (but not totally necessary) items that you won't be able to go back and get later if you miss them.  Like in FF VII, I started playing it without looking at the stategy guide and missed the Ramuh materia, and I was so mad for the rest of the game that I didn't have it (you'll know what I'm talking about when you start playing).  I know some people don't like using walkthroughs, I don't use them most of the time, but I hate missing stuff in FF.

  3. my advice is start with 7 it is a more fair representaion of the series than 8 which is all over the place and in my opinion one of the worst. 12 also i could not get into but is fun. 7 and 6 and 9 and X are good places to start.
