Which flat iron is better?

Question

I have heard from some that a thin one inch flat iron is better, and then I have heard that a thick two inch iron is better. So I was wondering what the majority of you all say. thanks!

well my hair is thick and wavy and i use a one inch flat iron by CHI. it works really well.

just remember to use a heat protecting spray before you straighten your hair unless you want burnt hair :)

either is fine. as long as you get a good brand and use it at the right settings.

The 1 in flat irons are better if you need to staighten hair close to your scalp. The 2 in ones condense too much heat close to your skin. Also, it's easier o overdry your hair with the 2 in irons. Always remember to use a high quality straightening oil. This will help hold the straightening and help prevent overdrying.

I don't think the width of the straightner is what matters... its the type, company, and quality. I would suggest getting one with titanium instead of ceramics. I have one with ceramics and I payed $100 for it and it is a fairly good straightner. My mom has one with titanium (payed $130) and I find it works even better than mine!

One of my friends just bought a pricier one ($170) but it works perfectly and it manages to tame my hair without a problem! Best straightner I`ve ever used. Although, you pay a little more, my experience with straightners is that you pay for quality but its worth it.. I`ve also tried cheap conair ones, but they never work.

Straightners are definatley awesome, and you can even curl your hair with it!

One inch is better for getting close to the roots. Two inch just makes the straightening faster.
