  1. The availabity of flower can make it hard to give them. The yellow rose is your best bet for welcome.

    Rose, Yellow:

    Infidelity, Joy, Gladness, Friendship, Jealousy, Welcome

    Chrysanthemum:

    You are a wonderful friend

    Garlic - Courage; strength, get well, ward off evil & illness

    Starwort - Welcome to a Stranger

    Wisteria =  Welcome

  2. Any flower you give to a sick person means "get well." Any flower you put in front of your home means "welcome. It is the context of the gift, not the flower itself, that gives it meaning. Just pick out whatever you think is pretty and convenient!

  3. What a lovely thing to do for new neighbors! Well red roses would be out of the question, as they mainly represent "love".  You can give any pretty bouquet, but I found a list of flower meanings you might find interesting:

    Also, people will commonly plant lavender around a front door or front gate, it has several meanings, such as to ward off evil spirits and also to welcome anyone that comes by.

    "According to legend the clothing of baby Jesus when laid upon a bush to dry by Mother Mary bestowed the scent. This may explain why the plant is also regarded as a holy safeguard against evil. In many Christian houses a cross of lavender was hung over the door for protection"

    Anthericum means Antidote

    Moluccella laevis means Good Luck thats the Bells of Ireland.
