Question:

Which flowers go with these dresses?

I am wondering about Calla Lillies. I think they would look good with this bridesmaid dress. Since the dress is busy, I want simple flowers. BUT, I wonder if they are too plain for me in my off-white wedding dress. Should I keep the flow and use the same flowers as the Bridesmaids, or should I get some flowers that 'pop' against my dress a little more? Which ones do you think?

  1. I like both of your choices of dress'.

What is the flowers imprinted on your dress'? I can not make them out to well, maybe daisy. I would pick up that theme of the flowers in your dress' and carry that throughout your bouquets for you and your bridesmaids. A wedding I did several years ago, she used Calla lilies in her bouquets as accent flowers. Your bouquet could be enhanced with the green of your bridemaids dress either in ribbon, greenery's or filler flowers.

I wish you well on your happy day and your marriage.

  2. Callas are about $15 per stem. . . the bridesmaid dress is very busy and casual and I think callas will be lost in front of it, as well as not showing well in front of your dress.  The BM dress is really hard to work with.

  3. First of all your wedding dress is stunning. I adore it. I think calla lilies would look nice with the bridesmaid dresses. They would be simple , but also stunning.

  4. I like the calla lillies with the bridesmaids dresses, but yours should have color and pop. I have always lilked the idea of white rose that have a hint of color to them but if you are doing calla lillies for the bms then do lillies for yourself. Same family and very beautiuful especially with a green ribbon to hold them all together.

  5. calla lillies come in colors, if you want something that pops but like callas consider them

talk to your florist about which varieties you like to see if they can get them.

your dress is very pretty and simple and good for you for picking out dresses your girls can wear again

  6. this is a toughy. calla liliesare such a different kind of flower than its sisters, because they look nothing alike. i do think you should have some other kind of flower that pops, but you should stay in the same category of flower. maybe you could use regular lilies. give your BMs white ones & you hold colorful ones. Roses are another elegant choice. once again they could hold white & you could hold a light pink. then as far as your wedding you could incorporate both flowers.

    good luck!

  7. Cute bridesmaid dresses!

I carried orange calla lillies at my wedding. My bridesmaids had smaller bouquets of white calla lillies. It looked very nice. We also had callas as a topper of our cake.

In retrospect, I would have made my own bouquets using callas. They're easy to tie together with ribbon, and since you only carry them for 15 minutes, you don't need to spend $100 for each bouquet. I see the need to make a professional bouquet of roses, but callas are pretty sturdy. You may want to get some from the florist and try it out.
