I've been Vegetarian for almost 2 months, and I think it's finally taking a toll on me. I haven't changed what I eat, except I just don't eat meat, everythin else is the same. I can tell my body is starting to shut down, I feel weak, and dizzy alot, so I was just wondering since I don't eat meat what other foods have the nutrients that are in meat that I need?

  1. Sounds like you need protein, and lots of it!

Here is a list of food that contains protein:

    almonds

    black beans

    brown rice

    cashews

    garbonzo beans

    kidney beans

    lentils

    lima beans

    peanut butter

    pinto beans

    seitan

    soybeans

    soymilk

    sunflower seeds

    textured vegetable protein

    tofu

    veggie dogs & burgers

  2. Eggs, nuts, and peanut butter. You need protein, so start taking protein supliments

  3. Ignorance is bliss until it bites you in the butt right? You need to make sure that you are getting the protein and compplex carbohydrates you need. You need beans, legumes, brown rice, quinoa, whole grains, you need tofu and tempeh and you need to be sure that your food is both organic and not genetically modified (No GMO). Since you obviously do not know how to prepare these foods please go to

Good Luck but seriously if you do nothing else get yourself some mac and cheese or some vegetarian baked beans and Yves Foot Long (Vegan) Hot Dogs. You do need immediate help, and thanks for asking.

  4. you obviously need protein. heres a list of some foods that you need to eat:

    nuts

    lentils

    beans

    rice

    tofu

    tempeh

    seitan

    hope you start feeling better

  5. beans, nuts, peanut butter, tofu, soy milk, soy cheese, mushrooms, immediatley!!!

you may need  a protien supplement to get you over the hump untill you get used to eating differently.

I am an RN and a nutritionalist

  6. Your body is telling you that you need protien!!! Check your grocery store. Most have a section for vegitarian products and there is lots of really neat things. You can get veggie burgers and dogs, different tofus and meat substitues. Your library would have vegetarian cook books.... Most of all , go see a doctor or nutritionist. They can  tell you which vitamins to take , how many calories you need, and once your doing every thing right you'll start to feel better. Even better than you did before!

  7. Peanut butter, beans, eggs, and nuts are all good sources of protein. Just eat moderate amounts of each to maintain a healthy diet. Too much of any one food is almost never healthy.

Tofu is also a good source, Tofu is low in calories for the protein it packs ineach 100 calorie serving of tofu contains 11 grams of protein. By comparison, 100 calories of ground beef provides 8.9 grams of protein, and a 100 calorie serving of cheese contains 6.2 grams.
