Which form, poetry or prose, find more effective?

This is kind of like asking: what is more effective, baseball or football? It depends on the audience. I like football more. However, a good pro baseball game will be far more interesting than a sloppy high school football game.

The effectiveness comes from the writing and its energies and how both make the reader's mind move, as well as the heart and soul.
