  1. MCMAP marine corps martial arts because it is weapons based!

  2. all martial arts are fun, it depends on your own attitude and what you like, some people find jumping around alot fun other people like to wrestle others like to beat the c**p out of eachother, all depends on what you like

  3. Personally, I love Tae Kwon Do. I won't say that it's the most fun, because there are lots of other great martial arts out there that I haven't tried but I've heard good things about.

I love my class because of the variety of things we do. During our two hour class we might work on forms, kicks, hand techniques, bag work, drills, sparring, self defense, or for the advanced belts -- we might even get to teach.

Everything we do is a lot of fun. The kicks are fun to learn and I enjoy hearing that nice sound when you do a kick correctly and the standing heavy bag makes that nice loud 'boom' sound. Self defense is fun and I learn a lot from it. Sometimes I go home with bruised hands / arms but it is so much fun getting to practice with someone. I've never twisted or bent so much in my life!

Anyway, it's hard to describe in this post why I love martial arts so much, but I tried. :)

  4. American Combat System is the funnest I've ever practiced!!!

  5. every art can be fun if you enjoy doing it

But of all the ones I've sampled there is one martial art that sticks head and shoulders above others for the "fun element"

    Capoeira

I've started with this about 1,5 years ago and am yet to encounter something that teaches fun as much of capoeira.

the whole basic Idea behind the art is the element of play.  Two players enter the circle or roda to play with one another and try to outdo each other in their skill of the art.  all along you are not trying to hit or hurt the other but just trying to have as much fun as possible.  all the while the rest of the group is making music to decide the rythm of the game and send energy into the roda.

  6. definately grappling of brazilian jiu jitsu because they are mostly about technique and leverage not strength

  7. It mostly depends on you and what preferences you have. I do taekwondo and that's great fun but it might not be you.

You might want to do grappling and groundwork. For that id go bjj (brazilian jiu jutsu) because its awesome in self defence and its fun and interesting.

For striking it depends how much and hard you wanna get hit= full contact no pads= kyokushin karate

Full contact with pads (still hurts a fair bit)=taekwondo

For weapons eskrima would be the best as it teaches you how to uses them and defence against them.

And for street self defence nothing beats the brutality of krav maga.

    Good luck

  8. It's really all based on what you think would be fun. If you like to move around kick and punch, stuff like that i reccomend karate. If you like to be mellow than i reccomend Tai Chi

  9. that depends on you. if you like kicks then Tae Kwon Do. if you like kicking and punching a lot of different forms of Karate. if you like acrobatics then wushu, caporia, or parkour. if you like grappling then Brazilian ju jitsus, sambo or judo. if you like competition then kickboxing, muay thai, mma, and Brazilian ju jitsu, judo and sambo are competitive ranking systems as well.

if you like self defense against regular street hoodlums I think they all work

  10. Depends on you, the school, the instructor(s), the other students, the curriculum . . . .

Best thing to do is go to as many schools as you can and check them out a couple of times and see what you think.  Most will invite you for a complimentary introduction.  Don't rush it though, take your time and see where you feel would be the most beneficial for what your needs and wants are.  And please don't sign anything until you are 100% sure.  (Personally I prefer no contracts)

  11. MMA...mixed martial arts, At my school and most MMAs we study mostly Muay Thai to Jiu Jitsu. But MMA is about taking the best from every martial art. its a blast...I had one cage fight and that was enough for me lol...rough but you can just do it for fun...im in the best shape of my life because of MMA.

  12. Something that's very entertaining, showy, and acrobatic. There is:

    1) Wushu

    2) Capoera

    3) Taekwondo

    4) XMA or Tricking.

  13. mma, mixed martial arts, it uses all types from karate to muay thai to jiu jitsu. its really fun and not as dangerous as people say! have fun
