  4. in your list, Digital8 is the newest. It was brought out by Sony as a patch to its Hi8 video line in response to miniDV.  8 mm is the oldest, whether you mean 8 mm film or video8. FYI, miniDV is not 8mm, it is 6mm wide tape.
