Question:

Which full suspension mountain bike should I upgrade to?

I have been mountain biking for 3 1/2 years and my first serious bike, an 05 fuji outland pro, has worked great. However, it is a hardtail and I am now looking to upgrade to a full suspension bike. I really like the handling and weight of xc bikes and the smaller amount of travel they offer doesn't concern me: 100mm suspension front and rear should be plenty. The choices I have narrowed it down to are:

07 fuji outland pro

08 cannondale rush5z

08 specialized fsrxc pro or expert

08 fezzari alta peak

These are in descending order of price, and I was wondering which one has the best components, the best frame, the best suspension, and what would you recommend as the overall best deal/bike? I'm also open to suggestions of other bikes.

Thanks in advance for your reply

  1. Why not try the Marin Mount Vision, the Scott Ransom or the Norco Six One?  These bikes are tested with superb reviews and have sweet features!  Get a FREERIDE bike and it'll definitely be worth the ticket----

  2. Of the bikes you have listed the Specialized is by far the best bike. The FRS suspension has been tweaked over the years and just keeps on getting better. If you still have time to look before you buy consider looking at Giant's bikes with the "maestro" susp. it works exceptionally well and will not disappoint you.

  3. They all look like they have similar specs.  So, to make your decision harder,  try looking at the Gary Fisher HiFi series or the Trek Fuel Ex series.

  4. I would go for the cannondale or the specialized expert or take a merida fully, merida is the top company for XC MTB's
