In my town grammar school teachers make over $60,000 per year.  Most psychologists in my area are self employed, so after self employment taxes, insurance, malpractice insurance, employees (if any) & all the costs associated with them, health insurance (oh, teachers here only pay 10% of their premiums), etc, I don't know if they have $60,000 per year left for themselves, maybe they do...

Psychologists work year round, teachers have 10 weeks off in the summer, ALL possible holidays, 3 weeks off during the year & a bunch of days off for "meetings" (at least 1-2 per month, if not more - & they are not even required to attend, they are only encouraged to attend).
