Neither is inherently more accurate

Both caliper and s***w type micrometers may use the vernier type scale. The difference in accuracy would be due to details of construction and the gradation on the vernier itself

A micrometer can make a more precise measurement.  Meaning is has more makings per inch than a vernier caliper.

So presumably, measurements made with one will be more accurate than the other.
