Question:

Which gliding club?

I have recently decided to join a gliding club, and I've been looking for them in my local area. I live near Halifax, UK and the choices I've come up with are Bowland Forest Gliding Club, Yorkshire Gliding Club, and York Gliding Centre.

I would like to know if anyone can reccomend which of these would be the best in terms of location (in terms of suitability for gliding), quality of service, friendliness of staff etc.

Transport isn't an issue to or from any of these places.

Thanks in advance!

  1. i would reccomend u go to a military gliding club. its comlpetely free for u to fly and i think sometimes u can even get paid. and the staff are awesome.  You also get the chance to get really nice qualifications and there is no bother about uniform or anything like that. look up your nearest RAF base, they nearly always have a gliding club - ask if they have a VGS a voluntary gliding squadron. That is what you're after. I go to 618 gliding sqn at RAF odiham and it rocks!

    have fun choosing :D

  2. i don't know
