  1. simplified version:

for the Trojans - Aphrodite, goddess of love - the reason that Paris hitched up with Helen in the first place

Apollo, god of the sun - loved the city of Troy and Hector

Artemis, goddess of the hunt - sister of Apollo so followed his lead

Ares, god of war - Aphrodite's lover so he sided with her and besides he just liked to fight

Zeus, king of the gods - tried to stay uninvolved but loved the city of Troy above all other cities in the world

for the Greeks - Hera, queen of the gods - didn't like not being chosen by Paris as the 'fairest' of the goddesses

Athena, goddess of wisdom - same as Hera and Odysseus was one of her favorite warriors

Posidion, god of the sea - pissed off the Trojans hadn't paid him and Apollo for building their walls generations ago

Thetis - Achilles' minor goddess mother - which pretty much explains why she sided with who

Hades and Hermes stayed pretty much out of things and Hephestus, the god of fire, only showed up when his mother Hera told him to to fight the river god Scamander that was threatening to drown Achilles

  2. Athena was against them as well.  Remember, Paris chose Aphrodite over both Hera and Athena.  Ares was "persuaded" by Aprhodite to side with the Trojans.
