Which golfer should i choose this week?

I am in a golf pool where you pick ONE golfer every week.....the catch is, you can only use this person ONLY ONCE throughout the whole season....for every dollar you earn you get $1 and it adds up through all 48 tournaments.....with a good finish with my pick last week of Brandt Snedeker (bad 4th round, but before tourney started, was just hoping he got in top 30), i moved up to 9th out of 40 people.

who should i pick for the verizon heritage??

i was thinking of these people

Ernie Els (want to save him for british open)

Jim Furyk (want to save him for later)

Stewart Cink

Justin Rose

Aaron Baddeley

Sean O'Hair

Zach Johnson

Bart Bryant

Stephen Ames

Justin Leonard

Chad Campbell

Brandt Snedeker

Boo Weekley

these are the top 13 predicted to win.....luckily i have not used any of these yet and only used 2 out of the top 10 in world up to this point...(Harrington, Singh)...who do you think i should use this week and why???

appreciate any answers

  1. Save Els. Furyk is suited better later, too. Cink is hot right now. Rose just can't get it done. Badds is too inconsistant. O'Hair might be a good choice, but save him for when he gets hot again. He's streaky. Bryant would be a better choice in Texas, somewhere like Byron Nelson. Ames is playing well. Leonard has made something like 10 of 11 cuts, so he's safe, but another guy to save til Texas. Campbell is also streaky, but Verizon is a ball-striker's tourney. Brandt is playing well, but didn't you say you used him last week? Boo is the defending champ here, but it's impossible to repeat. That said, I'd either go with Cink or Zach Johnson. Cink is due, plus Johnson should be saved for the Bell South later on this year. Cink. 2nd in Ryder Cup points, three top 3s. Do it.

  2. Badds won the tourney a few years back and he is a great putter, absent of the final round at Oakmont.  Since you want to save Furyk, I would have to narrow the field to Zach Johnson, Brandt Snedecker, Aaron Baddeley (personally, my favorite player) or Chad Campbell.  Overall, I feel Snedecker will have at least two wins this season, Johnson will get another, Baddeley will attain many top 10's and Campbell will either win or amass many top 10's.  All are solid picks.  If you want a winner, go with Snedecker or Campbell.  If you want a strong finish, go with Baddeley or Johnson.

    Just my 2 cents

    Good Luck

FYI-it may have sounded like I was reduntant and misspoke earlier, but Johnson is a less streaky player than Campbell, therefore, Johnson will have more solid rounds where as Campbell will have some great and some bad rounds.

  3. Thats a tough one.  Lets see.

Obviously Snedeker is playing excellent golf right now so he may.

Stewart Cink and Sean O'Hair are also playing well.

I'd probably choose one of those 3, all the rest are probably second up to those guys.  Boo is really struggling with his game right now so I'd say definitely not.

This is really a coin toss man, good luck.
