  1. Supreme Court Justices

    The Presidential Cabinet

    Many other Executive branch positions

    Also....

The Federal Reserve operates independently of the Federal Government, I believe the only position subject to change via the government is the Head Chairman which is appointed by the President. Otherwise... the Fed is completely independent of government, and hence public influence... kind of scary but no one really minds, at least not enough to make a huge deal of it. Prolly 'cause the Fed can counter-act any government influence on the economy.. and usually is successful with keeping the economy rolling.. though not as of late : )

  2. If you're asking about the federal government, it's easier to say which ones are elected:  President, vice president, congressional representatives.  The rest are appointed.

  3. Federal judges and the President's Cabinet

  4. Cabinet members and federal judges are appointed positions.  A list of cabinet positions under George W. Bush follows.

Cabinet members are appointed by the president, subject to the confirmation of the Senate; and as their terms are not fixed, they may be replaced at any time by the president. At a change in administration, it is customary for cabinet members to resign, but they remain in office until successors are appointed.
