I'm looking at Magellans, Tom toms, and Garmins.

I would like a wide screen, a touch screen, and it would be nice if it had voice recognition.

I also kinda want to have picture viewer, and other funtions.

are there any gps systems that have interenet (even if it's only in a wifi zone)?

and I don't want monthly fees!

  1. Tom Tom is the best i have that one it has wide screen touch screen and all that fancy jazz it does not do interent thought but you can plug it into the internet and get world wide maps if you like to travel!!!

    And no monthly fees

Plus you should become our fan

  2. TomTom is the world leader for a reason, they are the best, there are only two map providers Teleatlas and navteq , teleatlas is owned by TomTom in just recently had been tested up against navteq by a independant study at GPS review and found teleatlas better, now for the plus , the only maker with free map updates and mapshare technology which allows you to make map corrections and share them when you hook up to a computer, and of coarse download them, some of the units come with ,IQ Routes™ technology

    - Advanced Lane Guidance

    - Easy access to traffic information

    - Enhanced Positioning Technology

    -Voice address input

    - Hands-free calling

    - No monthly fees

    - Built-in FM transmitter- how this works is say you want to listen to your MP3's that you have downloaded on your TomTom you can broadcast them on any vacant radio station in you car and when it gives you the next instruction it will mute the music and then resum after the instruction anyway hope that helps ........Ren

  3. Hi, Squint at a your tiny Garmin GPS if you want, but I won't...

'cause my SONY NV-U83T has an almost 5" screen. Works great.

Much better mapping than TOM TOM. GPS engine is fast, and when satellites are temporarily hard to see, navigation continues with a doppler/inertial-like, gyro-based technology that backs up the GPS system- SONY's exclusive POSITION PLUS. Becomes my handsfree phone via Bluetooth, interfaced flawlessly with my cell phone. Don't listen to the Garminites, they just don't know any better. My wife has a garmin 200w and we have been happy with it but the sony is just too nice, we was buying this unit at nstuf.com the other day and we very happy.

The SONY NV-U83T is the cold nuts.
