Average classes or kind of below average classes (just in 2 classes) and get straight A/s. ....

OR

In 2 AP classes and get all B's except for the easy classes (ex. P.E/Art)

Does the B in your AP class round to an A?

I'm a junior in high school

  1. In my school, my teachers said that it is better to take the AP classes but that is only if you get Bs and don't let it fall into Cs

  2. If you get straight A's in any classes, that's good

  3. I would say that they basically round out to the same thing, considering the levels of the courses. Like, if you're thinking of which ones colleges would prefer, I don't think they would really prefer one over the other. They might admire the drive to take AP classes a little more though.

  4. No matter what class, As should be your standard.

  5. The point isn't the grades, per se, it's the learning.

Yeah, it's important to get good grades for when you apply to university.  However I would urge you to go for the highest level of coursework you can and then bust your hump to make grades.  It's MUCH more impressive to the college entrance folks to have made As and Bs in AP classes than straight As in just the run-of-the-mill curriculum.
