  1. I try to use a combination of  perennial grasses,  rye and creeping red fescue. It's about 3/4 rye and 1/4 fescue. Be sure to try getting a product with low weed content, which should be listed on a label on the seed bag. This is the combination we used for the military cemetery in Washington State, and was what was required by the government. I use it on my own lawn also. Usually you can find it where they sell seed products, like Walmart, but I have had to get it at farm stores. Sometimes I buy a bag of each and mix it myself. Once I found a product with the same stuff, but it was years ago. Be sure you get perennial. The annual stuff sprouts faster, but dies out after a year unless you let it go to seed. The annuals also have a problem of developing thatch over time. If you have a lot of evergreens in your area, spread lime on the ground to take care of the acidity. They sell it at most hardware stores in the lawn products. Fertilize with a good one that has a 3:1:2 ratio of the ingredients. All fertilizers have the three main ingreditients shown as a ratio on the bag. Look for those numbers in that ration (3:1:2, 6:2:4, 9:3:6, you see the pattern). You may not be able to get them in exact numbers to meet the ratio, but get as close as you can. This will ensure the grass grows a good color, develops strong roots, and has good growth rate. It helps to have iron listed as an additional ingredient, along with a little sulpher. This is what we used, and had a lush thick green grass which laughed at weeds. We got a lot of praise from visitors who came to see their relatives there.

  2. I believe there are several states that fit that description,so lets not be coy.

Now this web site is extremely easy to follow,I have used many of these seeds in the past.

As for the 10 points, give them to the needy.

    My Best

  3. Marathon 1 has been great for us.  It is durable, can take the pounding from the kids and the dog, stays green year round, and can take the cold.  I live where it gets to be about 95 in the summer and in the 30s-40s in the winter.  We don't get snow and it rarely gets below freezing.  The Marathon 1 is green year round, but it does need water daily in the summer.
