  1. Obviously it's water vapor, it accounts for nearly all of the greenhouse effect that makes the Earth habitable. Without it we'd be frozen solid, about 33C colder than we are now.

But that's mostly because there is just so much water vapor out there, it's actually a weak gas compared to most greenhouse gases. Nitrous oxide is 310 times more potent than CO2 and Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) has a global warming potential (GWP) of 23,900,  which makes it the most potent greenhouse gas. CO2 has a GWP of 1, making it  the weakest greenhouse gas that results from human activity.

  2. Myth #18: Water vapor is a more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2, and since humans have almost no direct impact on the amount of water vapor in the air, humans can’t be the cause of global heating.

"Basically, water vapor is a more important greenhouse gas than CO2, but because CO2 will cause heating independently of water vapor, as man-made CO2 increases global heating, water vapor will increase too, boosting the amount of warming with a positive feedback loop."

  3. Let's see ... looking at the research... um ... CO2 ... uh-huh ... and water .... Yup.

... and ... let's see... they cause global warming ... no, wait ... global cooling ... no, wait ... they trap the heat so it's warming ... um ... but ... they block the sun so it's cooling ... yeah that's it ... no... but what about ..... um ....

Oh! Whatever! It has to cause something. And the US is to blame! And it's all Bush and Cheney's fault! And we know tht whatever we do won't fix anything but we need to do something. We have to save the baby polar bear!

  4. Jan Veizer a famous and well renowned climatologist listed the five mos important greenhouse gases.

    1)Water Vapour

    2)Water vapour

    3) water vapour

    4) water vapour

    5) co2 a distant fifth

  5. The greenhouse effect - water vapor.

    Global warming - carbon dioxide.

Please see Myth #9 here for an explanation of what you're misunderstanding:

Man-made global warming is not "Al Gore's theory".  It's a scientific theory.

  6. water. but as you may have noticed water vapor is regulated by tempriture so it can not cause changes in climate but CO2 is not regulated as tightly an so can change the climate. water vapor will also act as feedback for any co2 caused warming

  7. water vapor.

however, the excessive amount of water vapor is still caused by the heat trapped by CO2. ergo, CO2 is still the enemy. rrrah!
