Which hair color is harder to maintain?

Question

I presently have medium brown hair with blond highlights, and was wondering which would be easier to maintain?

the closer it is to your hair it's easier and if it's darker no problam! but if it's lighter you have color it 1 # at 1 time!

Anything red fades very quickly.

The second color would be harder to maintain because it's much lighter than your natural haircolor; you will have very noticable roots. And I can't really tell that she has highlights in the first pic, the shading in the pic is too dark to tell.
