Which hamster wheel?

Does my syrian hamster need a wheel? If so, what diameter should it be? Are the flying saucer brand good, or are the silent spinners better? Thanksx x

Yes, all hamsters, especially syrian, need a wheel to prevent them from becoming obese. The minimum wheel diameter for syrians is at least 8 inch. Silent spinner is the better brand. The flying saucers fall apart in a month. Good luck!

yes you need a wheel.  To avoid injury to their backs they need a wheel at least 8"

Yes, your hamster definately needs a wheel. It is not fair for them not to have one as they are very active and will run for ages on them at night. The wheel needs to be big enough so that the hamster's back is not arched when he runs. A medium silent spinner is too small as it is only 6.5" in diameter. A better choice is either a Comfort wheel or a Savic Rolly wheel, both in the large size. Diameter should be about 8". Both of those wheels can be used with a stand or attached to the side of the cage.

Get a decent silent one or it will drive you nuts when the hamster starts running at night! Not sure about size but look for one that your hammie will be able to sit/run in comfortably without being squashed.

I would get the silent spinner in size medium. The sacers are ok but my Hamster prefers the silent spinners and they are silent.

It need's a ball to do exercise, and also a wheel, you need to get a wheel that is the same brand as your cage, I would suggest Rotastack if you haven't already got a cage.

you can get ones that sit on a stand in a cage so the hamster can go in and out and you can change the door so that the hamster cant get out if your cleaning out the cage etc. but make sure that when its in the cage the ball is moving well as sometimes the sawdust underneath stops it from moving freely!

Get a silent one. Before I got one I was kept awake every night and they are really good and not too expensive. Yes they need a wheel as they need exercise. If you get a silent wheel is should be about 20cm diameter i think but that's just guessing

silent spinners all the way and i would say that the medium will be perfect. and yes she will benefit from a wheel.
